World Children's Day celebrated on 11/20 gives each of us an opportunity to raise public awareness of children's rights and to make them a reality through various acts in their favor all over the world.
With this in mind, the Louvre Hotel and Spa, led by Mrs. Stefana SBIRKOVA, is strengthening its CSR commitments by donating surplus food to Akany Avoko Faravohitra in order to avoid waste and at the same time contribute to achieving the Goal 2 of the SDGs "Zero Hunger".
Saving food from waste helps reduce the dumping of waste into landfills where it creates the greenhouse gas, methane, which is 25 times more dangerous than CO2. This approach also responds to SDG 13 on the measures to be taken to combat climate change and its repercussions.
Remember that the Akany Avoko Faravohitra is a reception center for underage girls placed legally by juvenile judges, by the family or simply lost children.
The center implements different methods to achieve the social integration of these young girls, including their psychosocial support, their schooling, their professional orientations, their personal development and many others.
The Louvre Hotel and Spa is opening its doors wide to give these young girls a chance to learn about the professional world by offering them the possibility of doing observation days or internship offers once they have reached the age of majority.
This connection with the center was provided by Bii, a social enterprise that fights food waste and food insecurity among children by connecting unsold food from the food sector with charitable organizations that take care of vulnerable children. At zero cost, zero CO2 and zero risk!
