Solomon, craftsman sculptor for over 50 years, returns to the Louvre Hotel & Spa for the 9th edition of his exhibition entitled "The art of wood, a living art".
Coming from a family of craftsmen, Rakotomalala Solomon has been immersed in art from an early age. Originally from Ambositra, the cradle of Malagasy craftsmanship, he tried his hand at sculpture at only 10 years old. Over the years, Solomon devotes himself to his passion and opens his workshop "Manan'art" in 1980 in the 67ha district.
This talented craftsman advocates respect for the environment in his artistic approach. Solomon brings back to life dead wood, recycled wood or wood recovered after a cyclone, to shape a unique sculpture. Magnificent, singular, each one as much as the other, his sculptures reflect the finesse of his work. Solomon continues to evolve and his recognized creativity has earned him the title of Commander of the Order of Craftsmanship Merit and the Model Craftsman Award.
Discover Solomon Manan'art from December 16, 2019 to January 6, 2020 in the lobby of the Louvre Hôtel & Spa Antaninarenina.
