On Saturday 25 January 2020, the Louvre Hotel & Spa and La Maison d'Aina joined hands to fulfil their civic duty. More than 500 seedlings were planted at the association's site in Ambatolamampy (70 km south of Antananarivo, on the RN7).
La Maison d'Aina or LMA is a Franco-Malagasy association that accompanies about a hundred children from underprivileged families. It intervenes in the field of schooling, vocational training, medical follow-up and also in various programs such as the environment. Since its creation in 2002, the association has been progressively exploiting its propriety by planting trees, fruit and vegetables. For this reforestation campaign, seven species of tree have been carefully selected: the mango tree, the jambul tree, the papaya tree, the tapia tree, the silk tree, the olive tree and the Mandrorofy (trachylobium verrucosum); in particular for the production of artisanal raw materials, for their medicinal virtues or for their fruit.
The Louvre Hotel & Spa will now organize its annual reforestation at La Maison d'Aina. This will allow monitoring and maintenance of previous years' plantations.
